Our Work
This seasonal safari is best experienced between December and March when the migration herds are gathering in the southern plains of Serengeti. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes and encounter a diverse array of wildlife, including the dramatic herds of wildebeest during their calving period. Witness the circle of life unfold as newborns take their first steps in the Serengeti plains.
Places: Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti & Ndutu
Depart after breakfast for your short trip to Arusha Airport and your flight to Lake Manyara. Your safari guide will meet you at Lake Manyara Airstrip and he will escort you into the nearby National Park for morning game viewing.
Here you can hope to get a little closer to the troupes of baboon, slightly bashful blue monkey and the impish, ever-playful vervet monkey.
After your morning game drive, your guide will escort you up the steep Rift Valley escarpment and on into the heart of the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Breakfast at 07:00am, departure from camp at 8.00am in order to make an early descent into the crater and beat the crowds driving in from Arusha.
The Crater needs no introduction, being the largest intact caldera in the world, and a World Heritage Site. It is one of the most spectacular sights. With the exception of impala and giraffe, almost every species of plains mammal lives or visits the Crater floor – a true African Eden. Later in the afternoon, drive to Serengeti for overnight.
Today is a day to relax and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives around the beating heart of the Serengeti.
Whatever the time of year, there is always an abundance of game in the central Serengeti region with many resident prides of lions and other large mammals making this area their permanent home. Overnight is Serengeti
After breakfast, we embark on a full day game drive to take in the immense area, – and track down the cats if we can.
This is a wonderful place to come across fearsome apex predators and the chances are good for sightings of the resident prides of lion, cheetahs in the long, grassy plains and leopards snoozing lazily in the branches of acacia trees. Return for dinner and overnight.
Departing after breakfast, we will escort you to the Seronera Airstrip where you will be able to board your short flight back to Ndutu in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in pursuit of the greatest mass-birthing spectacle in the world.
In green season, between December to May, the southern plains of Serengeti and the bordering territories within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area look as though an omnipotent being has thrown vibrant green paint across the plains in every direction, and the sheer numbers of species of plains game, birds and predators all around you at any one time is quite simply breathtaking. Overnight in Ndutu.
Today let’s awake before dawn and get out on the plains to visit the inhabitants of Serengeti as they finish up their business of the previous night’s hunt.
Return to camp for brunch and a welcome siesta, before setting off in the long rays of the mid-afternoon to watch the day drawing to a close in its haunting golden light – fabulous for budding and seasoned photographers to capture some moody, dreamy shots of the lush green Endless Plains – Siringit in the Maasai language.
Wave a fond farewell to the inhabitants of Ndutu southern Serengeti plains and make your way to the airstrip to depart on your flight back to Arusha.
Here we can transfer you for a leisurely poolside lunch, a visit to the Shanga boutique and/or a day room to await your international flight or your onward flight to Zanzibar.
